Pid Synioyu Flyazhkoyu ("Under the Blue Flask", also widely spelled "Under the Blue Bottle") is a tiny cafe hidden at the far end of a long courtyard of an old tenement house at 4 Ruska Street — you cannot see it from the street and have to walk in through the archway. The name refers to the first Viennese coffee house "Under the Blue Bottle", opened in 1683 by Lviv native Yurii Kulchytskyi, whose portrait hangs on the wall beside old ensigns, drawings of old Lviv and Austrian-era artefacts. Signature items are flaming coffee, cheese, meat and chocolate fondue, homemade liqueurs and desserts. The cafe announced its closure in summer 2023 but reopened a few months later after a renovation, keeping its concept; as of late 2024 it is operating.
It is "Pid Synioyu Flyazhkoyu" (Under the Blue Flask), also commonly written as "Pid Synioyu Plyashkoyu" (Under the Blue Bottle). Both refer to the same cafe; there is no venue called "Potichok" at this address.
Enter the archway at 4 Ruska Street and walk to the far end of the long inner courtyard — the cafe has no street-facing sign.
