The Kharkiv — Lviv train covers the route in roughly 10–12 hours. Most services are overnight: leave in the evening, arrive in the morning — the trip costs you a night's sleep, not a day.
Night trains via Kyiv or Poltava — the longest domestic route from Lviv. Arrival is at Lviv's main station (Dvirtseva Sq.), 15 minutes from the centre — trams 1 and 9 run straight to Rynok Square.

Ukrzaliznytsia opens sales 20 days before departure (10 for some eastern routes); European carriers set their own rules — RegioJet, for example, opens 60 days ahead. The best seats and fares go in the first days of sales. With flexible dates, also check 2–7 days before departure — returned tickets often reappear then.
