The Museum of Human Diseases, named after Dmytro Zerbino, belongs to the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine of Lviv Medical University at 52 Pekarska Street, in a building erected specifically for it. Founded in 1896, its collection is listed in Ukraine's State Register of scientific objects of national heritage. The core of the display is over 1,800 preserved specimens showing what specific diseases do to human organs — tuberculosis, leprosy, smallpox, and lungs damaged by COVID-19 among them. Alongside are 2,500+ histological slides, a historical medical library, anatomical drawings, and an autopsy-protocol archive kept continuously since 1896. This is a teaching museum, not entertainment: the material is graphic and not for squeamish visitors. From September to June it opens on weekdays 15:30-17:30; in July-August and at weekends, by prior arrangement only.
80 UAH standard admission, 50 UAH concession. Guided tours in Ukrainian from 400 UAH; in English or Polish from 1,000 UAH.
