The Cathedral of the Assumption, built in 1363 by the Armenian community, is the oldest church in Lviv and the most atmospheric corner of the Old Town — an arcaded courtyard, ancient tombstones, a wooden Calvary and mosaics. The interior was painted by Jan Henryk Rosen and Józef Mehoffer, whose 1920s frescoes are considered a high point of sacred modernism. Still an active Armenian Apostolic church; free entry.
