Brunicki Palace is a neo-baroque residence in the town of Velykyi Liubin, about half an hour's drive from Lviv. A masonry manor stood here already in the 18th century, on the site of an earlier castle, and the building took its present form in 1909-1910 when it was thoroughly rebuilt to a design by the architect J. Schultz. The Brunicki barons, a family linked to Galicia's oil business, owned the estate until 1939. The palace was restored in 2006-2007 with funding from the Swiss priest Robert Gotts and the local budget. Today the building houses part of a special boarding school, so the palace is mainly an exterior sight: the façades, the terrace and the surrounding old park, a listed landscape monument with ancient chestnuts, pines and a plane tree.
The grounds and the park are freely accessible, but the building itself houses a working boarding school, so the interiors are not open to tourists. It is an exterior-only sight.
Velykyi Liubin lies about 30 km west of Lviv, roughly a 30-40 minute drive.
Its neo-baroque look dates from the 1909-1910 rebuild, and it is surrounded by a listed old park with century-old chestnuts, pines and a plane tree.
