Shevchenkivskyi Hai is Lviv's open-air museum of folk architecture and rural life, named after Klymentiy Sheptytskyi. Founded in 1971, it spreads over 36.6 hectares of wooded hills on the eastern edge of the city and gathers more than 100 large wooden structures and some 22,000 artefacts brought here from across Western Ukraine. The exhibition is arranged by ethnographic region — Boikivshchyna, Lemkivshchyna, Hutsulshchyna, Bukovyna, Pokuttia, Podillia, Zakarpattia and Lviv region — so a single walk takes you through cottages, barns, windmills, forges and wooden churches. Its landmark is the Church of Divine Wisdom from the village of Kryvka (1763). Building interiors and exhibition halls are open Wednesday to Sunday; on Monday and Tuesday you can still walk the grounds and see everything from outside. Guided tours and craft workshops are available with advance booking.
A general ticket costs 200 UAH, a concession ticket 100 UAH and a family ticket 500 UAH. Entry is free on the last Wednesday of every month.
The grounds and ticket office are open daily 10:00-19:00. House interiors and exhibition halls open Wednesday to Sunday only.
It covers 36.6 hectares with over 100 relocated wooden buildings and about 22,000 artefacts from eight ethnographic regions of Western Ukraine.
