High Castle is the highest point in Lviv (413 m) and the city's best-known viewpoint. Almost nothing remains of the 14th-century castle itself, but a shaded park with paths and stairways climbs the hill, and the mound at the top gives a full circular panorama — the centre with the Town Hall tower, the roofs of the old town and the surrounding hills. Entry is free; the walk up takes about 20 minutes.
