Dovbush Rocks is a rock-and-cave complex in the Bubnyshche tract, about 3 km from the village of Bubnyshche. Note that although it is a popular day trip from Lviv (around 2 hours), the site is already in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (Bolekhiv community, Kalush district), not in Lviv Oblast. The formations are sandstone outcrops up to 80 metres high, formed on the floor of an ancient sea; the stone labyrinth stretches almost a kilometre through beech and spruce forest at around 660 m above sea level. Caves, niches, staircases and cells were carved into the rock — the site was an early medieval cliff fortress and monastic refuge, and legend links it to the outlaw Oleksa Dovbush. Metal stairs and ladders lead to the upper platforms: the climb is easy, but the edges are unfenced and the sandstone is very slippery after rain, so children need supervision. From the car park it is a 2–2.5 km walk on a forest road.
By car: Lviv – Stryi – Morshyn – Bolekhiv – Bubnyshche, about 120–130 km and roughly 2 hours; a sign in Bolekhiv marks the turn. Public transport is awkward — bus or train to Bolekhiv, then a local ride the last 18 km — so most visitors drive or join a tour.

No special gear is needed — metal stairs and ladders lead to the top. But most platforms are unfenced, the drops are tens of metres, and the sandstone gets very slippery in rain or frost. Keep children close and stay away from the edges.
