Lviv railway station is Ukraine's main gateway to Europe: daily trains leave for Poland, Austria and Hungary, plus dozens of domestic departures. The EU border is under two hours away.
Top international routes are Przemyśl (the fastest way into the EU and onto European trains), Krakow and Warsaw; night trains run to Hungary and Austria via Zakarpattia. Domestic favourites are Kyiv, Odesa and the Carpathian towns.

Ukrzaliznytsia opens sales 20 days before departure (10 for some eastern routes); European carriers set their own rules — RegioJet, for example, opens 60 days ahead.
