Iconart is a Lviv gallery of contemporary sacred art, open since 14 February 2010 at 26 Virmenska St., in the heart of the Armenian quarter. Its mission is to bring contemporary art and Christian spirituality closer together: it shows icons, painting, graphics and sculpture in which the traditional language of icon painting is reinterpreted with modern means. The gallery represents Ukrainian iconographers and sacred artists, changes its exhibitions regularly and hosts artist talks and discussions. It runs a shop where works by represented artists can be bought, with international shipping. The gallery is directed by Maryana Baran.
