Laznyi Waterfall is a narrow (about 2 m wide) and unusually tall cascade in the Skolivski Beskydy National Park, between the villages of Dovhe and Sopit in the Stryi river basin. Local sources call it the highest waterfall in Lviv Oblast: the water drops roughly 12 metres down a rock wall into a tight, forest-enclosed basin. That tightness makes it spectacular but awkward to view: the way down is an unimproved path with steps cut into earth and rock, with no railings and no picnic area. The rocks are slippery when wet, so grippy footwear and care are needed — no technical gear, but the descent is not suitable for small children or anyone unsteady on their feet. The approach from the village is short, so most visitors combine Laznyi with the nearby Sopit and Hurkalo waterfalls in one trip.
By car: Kyiv–Chop highway to Verkhnie Syniovydne, then via Krushelnytsia and Pidhorodtsi towards the villages of Dovhe and Sopit — about 110–120 km, 2–2.5 hours. There is virtually no public transport, so this is a car or guided-tour trip.
Short — a few hundred metres of path from the roadside near Dovhe plus a steep descent into the rocky gorge, about 15–25 minutes each way. An hour is enough for the visit.
No gear is required, but the descent is unimproved: steps cut into earth and stone, no handrails, permanently wet and slippery rock. Take it slowly, keep away from the edge above the drop, and skip the descent after heavy rain or in winter ice.
