Mount Parashka (1,268.5 m) is the highest summit of the Skolivski Beskydy and the highest point lying entirely within Lviv Oblast, about 8–10 km north-west of Skole inside the national park of the same name. A cross stands on top, and the open summit meadow gives a wide panorama over the Beskyd ridges; the slopes are beech and fir forest, giving way to grassland with rare protected plants. This is a full day hike, not a stroll: the classic route from Skole is roughly 19 km round trip with about 800 m of ascent — 4–5 hours up, 3–4 hours down, 8–10 hours in total. Technically it is straightforward (a marked trail, no rock sections, no gear needed) but physically demanding: steep forest climbs, no water on the ridge, and fast-changing weather and fog on top. Bring hiking boots, a windproof layer, two litres of water, and start early.
Hikes normally start in the town of Skole — about 100 km from Lviv on the Kyiv–Chop highway (roughly 1.5 hours by car), or 2–2.5 hours by train or bus. Park in Skole at the start of the marked trail. Alternative starts exist from the villages of Korchyn, Maidan and Tukhlia.
The classic route from Skole is about 19 km round trip with roughly 800 m of ascent: 4–5 hours up, 3–4 hours down, so plan 8–10 hours. The trail is marked and needs no technical gear, but it is a demanding full-day hike for people with reasonable fitness. Start by 8–9 a.m.
The dangers are weather and daylight rather than terrain: fog, wind and thunderstorms arrive fast on the open ridge, and there is no water or shelter on top. Bring hiking boots, a waterproof jacket, 1.5–2 litres of water, food, a power bank and an offline map. In winter or icy conditions this becomes a serious hike requiring experience.
Free — there is no ticket office on the trail from Skole, although some developed recreational sites elsewhere in the national park do charge a fee.
