Tysovets is a ski area built around the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence's winter-sports training base, in Stryi district of Lviv region at 950–1100 m altitude, about 32 km from Skole and 2 km from the village of Oriavchyk. It has one chairlift (1650 m, 160 m vertical) and several drag lifts — «Zakhid» (650 m, 240 m vertical), «Pivnich» (800 m, 220 m vertical) and the beginner «Baletnyk» (100 m). Slopes are mostly intermediate, with a learning hill, cross-country and sledging trails and a well-known 500 m mogul run. Tysovets is quieter and cheaper than Slavske or Bukovel and appeals to athletes and to skiers who hate queues.
Tysovets sits in Stryi district, about 32 km from Skole. By car from Lviv it is roughly a 2–2.5-hour drive via Stryi, Skole and Oriavchyk. Public transport is limited: take a train or bus to Skole, then a taxi or transfer.
