Zolota Forel is a resort complex in the village of Korostiv in the Carpathians, about 115 km from Lviv (roughly a 2-hour drive via the M06 through Stryi and Skole). It combines a working trout farm, fishing ponds, a fish restaurant, a 16-room hotel, mineral-water hot tubs (chany) and a farm shop. The trout is raised in the complex's own ponds fed by the Butyvlia mountain river. Rods and tackle are provided for fishing (you may bring your own), beginners are helped out, and your catch is cleaned and either cooked in the restaurant or packed to take home — you essentially pay only for the fish you catch, by weight. The restaurant serves grilled trout, trout with pine nuts and in sour cream, hot-smoked sterlet and fish soup, with mountain-view terraces and a kids' playground.
