Jamala is a Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar descent, born in 1983. In 2016 she won Eurovision with «1944», a song about the deportation of the Crimean Tatars. She is a People's Artist of Ukraine (2016) and a Shevchenko National Prize laureate (2024). Her songs include «Shliakh dodomu» and «Kryla»; in 2023 she released «Qırım», an album of Crimean Tatar songs.
