Akhali ('more than a khinkali house') is a Georgian restaurant at 16 Dzhokhara Dudaieva St., the flagship of a small Lviv chain (also Kurbasa 4 and Stryiska 45D). The cooking is classic Georgian over open fire: seven kinds of khinkali (beef-and-pork, lamb, suluguni, mushroom, the signature black khinkali, chkmeruli, and a sweet cherry-mascarpone version), eight kinds of khachapuri (Adjarian, Megrelian, khorchula, Svan, grilled), plus grilled meats, soups, salads, oven bread, sauces and Georgian wine. There is a summer terrace, banquet service and city-wide delivery — a loud, family-style place with generous portions.
