Kryjivka is Lviv's cult themed restaurant, opened in 2007 by the !FEST holding and hidden in a cellar on Rynok Square, 14. Finding the door is only half the job: to get in you must know the password «Слава Україні!» (Glory to Ukraine) and pass a check at the entrance. The interior recreates an insurgent hideout — wooden beams, old lamps, historical photos, maps and flags. The food is authentic Ukrainian: potato varenyky, borscht with knysh, half a metre of sausage, vereshchaka, all served in metal dishes, with hearty «Iron portions» for groups. Drinks include the house medovukha and khrinivka, plus uzvar and herbal tea for non-drinkers. There is also a shooting range, and a tour of the venue doubles as a story about the UPA.
Part of Rynok Square, 14
At the door you must say «Слава Україні!» (Glory to Ukraine) and you will hear «Героям слава!» (Glory to the Heroes) in reply — only then are you let in. The entrance is at Rynok Square, 14; the door is unmarked and the restaurant is in the cellar. No booking or membership is required for the password — it is part of the act.
According to the official !FEST page: Mon–Fri 11:00–22:30, Sat–Sun 10:00–22:30. Phone: +38 (067) 310-31-45.
Authentic Ukrainian food served in metal dishes: potato varenyky, borscht with knysh, half a metre of sausage, vereshchaka, and «Iron portions» — generous sharing sets for groups. The house drinks are medovukha and khrinivka.
Kryjivka is one of the busiest restaurants in Lviv and there is often a queue at the door in the evening and on weekends, so calling +38 (067) 310-31-45 in advance saves time.
