The 700th Anniversary of Lviv Park is a public park of about 22.5 hectares in the Shevchenkivskyi district, on the left-bank floodplain of the Poltva river: Rainisa street to the north, Torfiana to the south, Levka Lukianenka and Zamarstynivska to the east, with Chornovola Avenue running alongside. It was laid out in 1956, the city's jubilee year, on peat bogs — at first a small oak, birch and alder wood with a meadow between Zamarstynivska and Varshavska streets. In the late 1970s the extension of Chornovola Avenue cut through the meadow and the park shrank to its present 22.5 hectares; because open space prevails, it is often called a meadow park. In 2016–2018 it was rebuilt with a network of paths, tidied plantings, a main entrance and lighting. On 17 October 2020 an apple orchard was restored on the southern slope, and in 2022 a multi-purpose playground with areas for preschoolers and schoolchildren opened.
