The Rozhirche rock monastery is a cave complex carved into a massive sandstone outcrop (about 400 m long, up to 25 m high) on a forested slope above the Stryi River. Its main construction is dated to the 13th–16th centuries. The complex has two levels: a large lower dwelling cave with an adjoining storage chamber, and an upper level — the former cave church — reached by roughly 18 steps cut straight into the rock, with no handrails. Niches, carved crosses and beam sockets survive on the walls. It sits inside the protected "Rozhirche" natural area; entry is free and there is no ticket office, staff or lighting.
Rozhirche is about 90 km from Lviv in Stryi district. Drive the Lviv–Stryi road, then turn off toward Nyzhnia Stynava and Rozhirche; by public transport take a train or minibus to Stryi and a local bus onward. The final approach is on foot through the village.
