Snopkivskyi Park is a landscape-architecture monument of local importance (since 1984) covering 35.66 hectares in Lviv's Halytskyi district, between Lypova Aleia, Stusa, Krymska and Zelena streets. It was laid out in 1959–1963 on wasteland pitted with the sand and clay quarries of former brickworks; first named “Druzhba” (Friendship), it was renamed after the Snopkiv neighbourhood in the 1990s. The park holds over 200 species of trees and shrubs, a 5-hectare garden of continuous bloom, maple, ash and chestnut alleys, and 10–12-metre-wide avenues leading to the Ukraina stadium, the city's second largest. A rose garden with more than 40 varieties once existed here.
