Shtuka is a cafe-gallery at 8 Kotliarska Street (off Shpytalna), open since 2009. Its name recalls the "Sztuka" cafe that Ferdynand Turlinski opened in 1909 on Teatralna Street, decorated with paintings by the artists of the day. Today's Shtuka recreates the artistic atmosphere of Austro-Hungarian Lviv: restored ceiling and facade murals, an early-20th-century interior and a gallery right in the hall, with monthly rotating exhibitions of contemporary painters and photographers. Besides coffee and desserts (doughnuts, cakes, jellies), the venue hosts book presentations and flamenco and Argentine tango evenings.
