Lviv Beer Guide: Breweries, Beer Halls and the Beer Museum
The Lviv Brewery has been operating in the city since 1715, and alongside the classics a craft scene has grown up. Here's everything a beer-loving traveller should taste and see — from the beer museum to restaurants with their own breweries.
The "Lvivarnia" Beer Museum
Lvivarnia Beer Museum (vul. Kleparivska, 18; Thu-Mon: 11:00-19:00, Tue-Wed: closed) is a museum and cultural complex on the grounds of the Lviv Brewery, founded in 1715. Ten exhibition halls on three floors tell the story of brewing; since 2024 the complex has also housed the KLEPKA mini craft brewery. The tour takes about 1.5–2 hours and ends in the tasting hall with a set of four classic Lvivske beers or KLEPKA craft sets.
A craft brewery in the centre: Pravda
Pravda Beer Theatre (pl. Rynok, 32; Mon-Sun: 12:00-23:00) is a !FEST brewery-restaurant right on the main square. The beer is brewed on site — from ales to lagers; several floors, a rooftop terrace and live performances. A great spot to try local craft in the very heart of the city.
Beer restaurants and kniaipas
For dinner with beer:
- Kumpel (vul. Vynnychenka, 6; Mon-Sun: 11:00-22:00) — Lviv's first restaurant-brewery with its own beer and Galician food; regular beer tastings (500 UAH per the official menu).
- !FESTrepublic (vul. Staroznesenska, 24-26) — the !FEST creative quarter, home to Rebernia, the Pravda brewery and other venues.

Beer + ribs = a Lviv classic
A distinctly Lviv tradition is beer with ribs. The !FEST «Rebernia» chain has three Lviv locations: under the Arsenal (vul. Pidvalna, 5; Mon-Sun: 11:00-23:00), on Stryiska (vul. Stryiska, 202; Mon-Sun: 12:00-22:30) and at FESTrepublic (vul. Staroznesenska, 24-26; Mon-Sun: 12:00-22:30). The ribs are cooked over an open fire and eaten by hand, with craft beer on the side.
What to order: local beer brands
- Lvivske — the historic brand of the Lviv Brewery; the classic styles are part of the tasting at Lvivarnia.
- Pravda — craft from the brewery on Rynok Square, from ales to lagers.
- Robert Doms — beer named after the owner of the Lviv brewery on Kleparivska Street.
If you like something stronger, try the signature 17.5% cherry liqueur at Pyana Vyshnya (Drunken Cherry) on pl. Rynok, 11.
The main beer festival
The city's biggest beer event is the Craft Beer & Vinyl Music Festival: craft beer from dozens of Ukrainian breweries, concerts and vinyl DJ sets at !FESTrepublic (vul. Staroznesenska, 24-26).
