The Boim Chapel (1609-1615) is the family mausoleum of the Lviv patrician Georg Boim, built against the southern wall of the Latin Cathedral; Andreas Bemer of Wroclaw is the most likely architect. It is one of Ukraine's finest examples of the late Renaissance and Northern Mannerism: the western facade is covered edge to edge with carved reliefs of the Passion of Christ, and the dome is crowned by the figure of the Pensive Christ resting his cheek on his left hand. Inside are a coffered dome with three rows of caissons and eight angels bearing Latin inscriptions, fresco portraits of Georg Boim and his wife Jadwiga on the eastern wall, and a relief of St George. Fourteen family members are buried here. Since 1969 the chapel has been a museum of the Borys Voznytskyi Lviv National Art Gallery, open by ticket.
Adults pay 100 UAH, students 80 UAH, children and seniors 60 UAH; family tickets cost 150-250 UAH. A guided tour for a group of up to 20 people costs 300 UAH for adults.
Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00 (ticket office until 17:30). Closed Monday and Tuesday.
It is not an active church but a museum branch of the Borys Voznytskyi Lviv National Art Gallery, so a ticket is required.
