Lem Station is a creative hub inside Lviv's first tram depot, built in 1894 by Siemens & Halske together with the launch of the city's electric tram (corner of Vitovskoho and Sakharova streets). It is named after Stanislaw Lem, who was born and grew up in Lviv. After years of decay the city ran a revitalisation tender in 2017, won by a company founded by Taras Kytsmei (SoftServe), Dmytro Kosariev (N-iX), restaurateur Mark Zarkhin (Kumpel Group), Oleh Matsekh and other investors, who leased the site for 50 years with an estimated investment of around USD 7 million. Today the complex hosts LEM Food Market with 13 gastronomic residents and a bar, a 24/7 coworking and offices, the Cheese Bakery Lem patisserie, an event platform of 11 spaces across 4,000+ sq m (Depo Event Hall, Lem Square, Compressor Hall, Pantograph, a terrace), commercial units and parking for 100 cars.
