Since 2005 it has been a department of the Borys Voznytskyi Lviv National Art Gallery. Sculptor Mykhailo Dzyndra (1921-2006) studied at the Munich Academy of Arts, lived and worked in the USA in 1951-1991, then returned to Ukraine, built this museum at his own expense and donated his works to the state.
