A department of the Lviv Historical Museum in the Massari House at Rynok Square 24, first mentioned in 1535. The four-floor exhibition runs from archaeology (flint tools, Trypillia pottery, Bronze Age and Scythian finds) through Kyivan Rus and the Galicia-Volhynia state (10th-14th centuries, including enkolpion crosses and fragments from the old Lviv town hall), the Cossack era and the economy of the 17th-19th centuries (weapons, Cossack dress, hetman portraits), up to a top-floor collection of manuscripts and early printed books, among them 15th-16th century gospels and the 1581 Ostroh Bible, plus temporary exhibitions.
