The Museum of Modernism is an exhibition of the Borys Voznytskyi Lviv National Art Gallery housed in the Lozynsky Palace at 3 Vasyl Stefanyk St. Opened in May 2021, it presents a retrospective of 20th-century Lviv art across seven halls: the historical avant-garde and high modernism of 1914-1939; the existential sensitivity and alienation of intellectuals under totalitarianism in 1939-1953; the Lviv neo-avant-garde of 1962-1975; the stage design of Yevhen Lysyk; nonconformist art of the 1960s-70s; and the shift towards postmodernism. It shows around 200 works by more than 70 artists, among them Osyp Vaskiv, Karlo Zvirynskyi and Roman Zhuk. The palace itself was built in 1872-1873.
