The Ivan Trush Memorial Art Museum, a department of the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, occupies a two-storey villa at 28 Ivana Trusha Street, built in 1910 in the late Secession style by architect Oleksandr Lushpynskyi. The artist lived and worked here with his family until 1941; in 1986 his descendants bequeathed the house to the Ukrainian people and the museum opened in 1989 for the 120th anniversary of his birth. Ivan Trush (1869-1941) was a classic of Ukrainian Impressionism, a master of landscape and portraiture, an art critic and public figure. The display includes portraits of prominent Ukrainians, views of Lviv and Kyiv, Crimean, Carpathian, Italian and Egyptian landscapes, family photographs and memorial objects.
