Shuter Lake is a wild, free-access lake in the village of Sukhovolia, about 15 km from Lviv, formed in a former limestone quarry. It is small (~2.8 ha) with a modest sandy beach at the edge of a pine forest. It is NOT part of Kukabara Aqua Resort — that is a separate paid pool complex in the same village. There is no infrastructure at all: no changing cabins, toilets, sunbeds or cafes. SAFETY WARNING: Shuter is NOT on the official 2026 list of beaches approved for swimming in Lviv region. The water has not been officially tested, the bottom has not been surveyed, and there are NO LIFEGUARDS. As a former quarry, the lake has sudden drop-offs (anglers report depths up to 13 m) and cold currents. Swim entirely at your own risk.
