The Lviv Academic Theatre of Stage Miniatures "People and Puppets" was founded in September 1990 on the initiative of Oleh Novokhatskyi. It is the smallest academic theatre in Ukraine — a chamber hall of about 40 seats where the audience sits almost within touching distance of the stage. The company works on the border between puppet and drama traditions: the puppet lives in three-dimensional space alongside a live actor, and contact with the audience happens on several levels at once. Its repertoire policy favours original plays over stock fairy tales, with productions for the youngest children, schoolchildren and adults. It is located at 6 Fredra St, near Lviv Polytechnic.
