The Maria Zankovetska National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theatre is Lviv's oldest drama theatre and one of Ukraine's leading stages. It occupies the former Skarbek Theatre at 1 Lesi Ukrainky Street, a building of 1837-1842 funded by Count Stanislaw Skarbek and designed by Ludwig Pichl and Johann Salzmann — at its opening one of the largest theatres in Europe. The company was founded in Kyiv in 1917 and has been based in Lviv since 1944. The repertoire spans Ukrainian and world classics, contemporary drama and children's productions; besides the Main Stage there are the Chamber Stage and the 'Skarabei' stage at 26 Svobody Avenue. Admission is by ticket to a specific performance.
Prices depend on the production, stage and seat; check the schedule on zankovetska.com.ua or ticket operators.
